Greek professor murdered in downtown London

Thirty year old Mark Dwayne Patten faces charges for the brutal murder of 43-year old Professor Menelaos (Mel) Alygizakis, who was found dead outside Waterloo station in London at dawn Saturday.
The unlucky man suffered the brutal attack at the stop in front of one of the busiest train stations in South London, Waterloo, for yet unknown reasons. The professor died at the scene from severe injuries to the head.
Menelaos Alygizakis was a science professor at Athens College, with a wealth of work. He studied classical piano at the National Conservatory (1979-1987) and in 1995 graduated from the Physics Department of the University of Athens, specializing in Telecommunications and Informatics. He worked as a teacher for years, teaching Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Informatics at schools in Athens and England, as well as private colleges and universities of the two countries. He had worked at the Ursulines at Westminster College, Wimbledon College, Latimer School and more with Athens College being his latest tenure.
He had also taught at music schools in London and other British cities, teaching Technology of Music while also composing music. He kept his own studio for the last 25 years.
He spoke Greek and English, French and Bulgarian, and was knowledgeable in sign language. He loved traveling, reading and yoga.
