Tsipras meets Hollande and urges EU "New Deal"

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras urged a 'new deal' for Europe, in statements after his meeting with French President Francois Hollande in Paris on Wednesday.
Tsipras said that France was a "factor of stability in the European Union" and stressed that Greece was not a threat for Europe. The political change in the country was an opportunity, he emphasised, that everyone had to exploit. The Greek prime minister also noted that there were no "tenants and landlords" in the EU and the Eurozone: "we are all joint residents and we have an obligation to work for our common future," he said.
"By overcoming the crisis in Greece, we will give impetus to overcoming the crisis in Europe," Tsipras said.
Hollande, in his statements, underlined that austerity as "the only reality and choice" was no longer acceptable but also noted that there were commitments that had to be respected. He called for dialogue between Greece and Europe and said that France will give its support.
