Defense Minister Concludes Lightning Trip to Armenia, Georgia

A new, totally updated, defense agreement between Greece and Armenia will be signed in the near future, as defense minister Dimitris Avramopoulos noted, yesterday, after his lighting trip to Georgia and Armenia.
Mr. Avramopoulos noted the resolve of both countries to support peace and stability in the region , noting that the very competent armed forces of the two countries primarily serve territorial integrity.
The Greek defense minister noted that defense collaboration between the two countries began in 1996 adding that the new upgraded agreement will be signed in Athens, during the upcoming visit of his Armenian counterpart.
On his part Armenian defense minister Seyran Ohanyan thanked Greece for the ample aid supplied to his country referred to the possibilities for enhancing military collaboration.
During his brief stay in Erevan, Mr. Avramopoulos met with the country's president Serzh Sargsyan and foreign minister Εdward Nalbandyan, while he also laid a wreath at the monument of the Armenian Genocide.
