- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Prime Minister Vassiliki Thanou will announce specific measures on the problems that the Aegean islands face from the increased migration and refugees flow Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier, Thanou chaired an interministerial meeting on the migration issue. Alternate Minister for migration issues Yiannis Mouzalas estimated that "the implementation of the specific measures will give a breather to the islands." According to data, Lesvos receives 50 pct of the volume of refugees that arrive in Greece followed by Samos with 26 pct, Kos with 14 pct followed by Chios, Leros and other smaller islands.
