Greek taxpayers owe 82 bln euros

Greeks taxpayers are in arrears to the state to the tune of 82.3 billion euros according to the General Secretariat of Public Revenue.
According to the new figures provided by the Finance Ministry, outstanding payments to the Greek state rose by 832 million euros in October, raising outstanding payments accumulated in 2015 to 10.38 billion euros.
Although there is a marked increase in overdue payments to the state, October’s accumulated debt is almost half that of September which amounted to 1.6 billion euros.
The budget submitted by the Greek government on November 20, predicts 2.2 billion euros of revenues for the government through tax increases in 2016.
