Administrative staff at the University of Athens and the Athens Polytechnic have decided to continue their strikes until Friday, despite a judicial decision that their strike is illegal.
"The decision does not concern us," was the message from the strikers, prompting prosecutors to order police to immediately find out if court orders are being violated, and if so to invoke all legitimate processes.
At the same time, supreme court prosecutor Efterpi Kotzamani demanded from rector Pelegrinis to do everything in his power to normalize working conditions at the university, at their meeting.
On his part, education minister Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos said it was the rectors' responsibility to operate the universities and clarified that no employees will be called up by civil mobilization.
Meanwhile, the front of sit ins at the institutions is crumbling as three of nine schools at the Polytechnic have opened, Six schools at the University of Athens remain occupied by protesters.
