The Cyclades island complex maintained a growth rate of 15% over the first eleven months of 2014. In contrast, Dodecanese and Crete continued to record slight decrease of -2% and -0.8% respectively, compared to the same period in 2014.
Upgrading of regional airports
The whole country except Athens, showed a 11.5% decrease compared with November 2014 and 0.7% compared with the first eleven months of 2014 but is certain to attain the objective of 26 million arrivals for 2015.
On occasion of today’s signing of 14 regional airports concession contract between the Greek government and the FRAPORT AG-SLENTEL Ltd consortium, SETE welcomes the agreement which is expected to contribute to the upgrading of regional airports in need of major investments.
The upgrade will bring significant benefits for Greek tourism and local communities, through regional development of islands and other destinations served by regional airports.
