Four children dead in migrant tragedies
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
A new tragedy in the Aegean Sea took place early this morning. 20 refugees have been rescued but three children were found dead.
Three children drowned off the coast of the southeast Aegean island of Agathonisi early on Friday, as the boat they were traveling in from Turkey to Greece capsized.
A rescue boat belonging to a nongovernmental organization managed to save the other 20 passengers who were on board a boat.
Another boat carrying migrants reached Farmakonisi where among the forty people aboard authorities found a dead child.
In another incident, a Greek coast guard vessel broke down in Turkish waters last night, near the island of Agathonisi, while chasing a smuggler’s boat.
