Dust cloud to linger over Greece through weekend.
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The National Meteorological Service on Thursday warned that a veil of North African dust that has covered much of Greece since Wednesday is expected to get worse on Friday before dissipating over the weekend.
The dust cloud, carried to Greece on southerly winds, will be particularly dense on Crete, where its concentration today is expected to surpass the safety limit of 50 mg/cubic meter.
Health authorities on the island warn people with respiratory and heart problems to take additional precautions and avoid exposure.
