Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras heads off for a state visit to China today. Τhe 5-day visit in an effort to bolster investments in Greece.
Tsipras will be accompanied by a large delegation, including half of his cabinet’s Ministers and a large group of Greek enterpreneurs, with the hope to return with tangible deals that will boost the faltering Greek economy. The bilateral talks are expected to focus primarily on possible cooperation in the fields of transport, tourism, education and culture.
The Greek state managed to save the COSCO deal for the Piraeus port Authority (OLP), as a day after the controversy came to light 223 deputies voted for the amended law. Following the revolutions that Maritime Minister Thodoris Dritsas hastampered with an international deal for the renewal of the concession contract to Chinese company COSCO of the Piraeus Port Authority (OLP), and a ‘blame game’ between government officials on the matter, the 7 controversial amendments were rectified.
