The clash between the government and New Democracy heats up
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
An angry confrontation on the television licenses with background revelations about the ways and means statement of businessman Kalogritsas and the television licenses.
Main opposition ND speaks openly of "left machinations" and "scandal" after the new revelations and is reproaching the government fo losing its self-touting "moral advantage".
At the same time, it has forced the government to bring to the Institutions and Transparency Committee of the House State Minister, Nikos Pappas, the cg of Information and Communication Lefteris Kretsis the four tenderers for the television licenses.
The president of the Commission, Tasia Christodoulopoulou, refused to discuss the ND request for Nikos Pappas and the four tenderers to come to the committee to testify, causing tension.
"There are terrible scandals going on and you do not want to investigate. Is there not a scandal when a person puts up a pasture [as collateral] and the General Information Secretary himself says go ahead? Is it not a problem if you give permission to Kalogritsas without a cent?" noted ND spokesman Makis Voridis. Ms. Christodoulopoulou replied that "all will be judged in court," and accused ND of wanting to influence Justice.
"With the moral advantage you're done. You based your entire argument on transparency and refuse to discuss because it is a leftist interconnected interests" commented Makis Voridis.
