ND: GDP increase in Q3 is no cause for celebration
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The recovery registered in Greece in the third quarter of 2016 is no cause for celebration, New Democracy (ND) said in a statement on Monday, noting it is compared with a devastating quarter last year.
"The government is extolling the GDP data for the third quarter of 2016. Only this data is due to the fact that last year’s third quarter was disastrous,” the main opposition says.
It noted that last year the government “dried the market by wiping out the reserves of the pension funds, defaulted domestically, closed banks, imposed capital controls and signed the unnecessary, third memorandum.”
"Therefore, the data showing an increase of the GDP in the third quarter this year is no cause for celebration,” ND added.
