Yiorgos Lanthimos in new collaborations with Hollywood stars

After his rise to fame following his award-winning film “Dogtooth” at the Cannes film festival, Greek director Yiorgos Lanthimos seems to be at the most creative point in his career, with a series of international projects in the pipelines.
His new collaboration with with Hollywood star Colin Farrell, after the two worked on the Oscar nominated “The Lobster” is called “The Killing of a Sacred Deer”, the screenplay of which was written by himself and Efthimis Filippou.
The movie, which will also star Oscar winner Nicole Kidman is about a surgeon who forms a bond with a sinister teenager with catastrophic results. The movie is in post-production but Lanthinos has three more projects in the wings, a film called “The Favourite”, starring Emma Thompson, Rachel Weisz and Olivia Coleman, and a TV series called “On Becoming a God In Central Florida” with Kirsten Dunst.
The third one, according to media reports will see the Greek director collaborate with Colin Farrell a third tme on a series based on the life of US marine Oliver North and the Nicaragua contras Iran arms scandal in the 80’s.
