Search for missing refugees off the coast of Lesvos still unfruitful
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The investigations in the waters off the coast of northern and eastern Lesvos continue by air and sea to track down any survivors from Monday’s shipwreck that cost 16 people, refugees and immigrants, their lives. However, the investigations are still unfruitful.
Two women were rescued from the shipwreck of the boat that had sailed from Behramkale in the Troad, opposite Lesvos island, while seven people are missing according to official reports. Both women, the one in late pregnancy, are hospitalized at Mytilini’s general hospital and are out of danger.
