New Democracy criticises government on FYROM power firm purchase
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
New Democracy (ND) shadow defence minister Vassilis Kikilias on Thursday criticised the government on the acquisition by the Public Power Corporation (PPC) of the energy trading company EDS, belonging to the Deputy Prime Minister of the FYROM government, Koco Angjusev.
Kikilias called on the goverment spokesman to reveal who gave PPC's management the political orders to buy EDS for 5.0 million euros from Angjusev, in view of the agreement on the FYROM issue.
He explained that PPC had been at risk of defaulting 2-3 times in the last year and had no money to pay its employees.
"Two months before the Prespes agreement, they secretly gave the deputy prime minister of the government in Skopje a 5.0-million-euro gift via PPC. This can only happen if there are political orders. The issue is major, extremely serious and needs to be investigated immediately, starting today," he stressed.
