- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The "Zante girl", the "girl" sought by former US Secretary of State James Baker, has been found!
After the article was published at a leading diaspora site, Louisa Morfi found the 71-year-old now named Giovanna Xifita-Vithulka today.
Both were interviewed by zantenewstime.gr.
Louisa Morfi explained how she traced, the woman.
"I found her! How did this happen? When a friend sent me the post to put on our pages at Zakynthos Informer, I was looking at the photo and it made me feel that the girl in the photo looked like someone I knew well. who had the same characteristics as the girl in the photo .
As I was looking at the photo, I remembered a story my father-in-law told me about playing as children in the field in the area that looked like the one in the photograph, and so I started trying to find Zante Girl.
Immediately I sent the photo to a relative of my friend and asked if she was her grandmother taking into account the years etc. She was finally proven to be her aunt.
I took the photo I had and showed it to her sister who assured me that she was really her sister .... and today we talked with "ZANTE GIRL".
