Revythousa LNG station "received" the first US LNG cargo

Revythousa LNG station "received" the first US LNG cargo in its new third tank.
According to the announcement, on Sunday, December 30, 2018, the newly built LNG "Maria Energy" tanker of Tsakos Group docked at the Liquid Natural Gas Terminal at Revythousa to unload a LNG consignment from the American company Cheniere, of 168,000 m3 (1.772.400Mw), which was imported into Greece by DEPA.
This is the first US LNG shipment of shale gas imported into Greece and the first to be delivered from Cheniere's new terminal in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was unloaded at DESFA Terminal in Revythousa, in the 3rd tank, with a capacity of 95,000 m3 , recently inaugurated by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Stathakis.
It is estimated that it took about 27 hours to complete the unloading in all three tanks and it is the first time that a ship of the dimensions of "Maria Energy" unloads at Revythoussa Station.
Finally, the announcement noted that "Revythousa, welcoming the first US LNG cargo, paves the way for new prospects for gas supply and diversification of supply sources and security of supply in Southeastern Europe, making Greece an important hub for gas transportation, the whole area ".
