Τhe President of the United States, Donald Trump made a very bad impression, at the White House on an event to mark Greek national holiday commemorating the revolt against the Ottoman Empire on 25 March 1821, when he avoided mentioning who the Greeks revolted against.
"Today, we celebrate the long struggle of the Greeks to regain their independence from a foreign empire," said President Trump and those who heard what he said, "froze". The topic went viral among Greeks on social media when posted on Facebook and Twitter.
On March 25, 1821, the American President continued, the Greek patriots revolted and fought to liberate their country (from who?) to restore their sovereignty and to determine their destiny.
