ND deputy Staikouras criticises government's economic results

Growth in 2018 was lower than the target set because of a greater drop in investments, New Democracy economy shadow minister Christos Staikouras said on Monday.
The main opposition MP said that Greek and international agencies foresee low growth rates for 2019 as well, "a result of overtaxation, domestic defaults, inability to implement structural reforms, lack of investments, and lack of market liquidity."
"Under this policy, implemented purposely, the government is throttling the real economy, households and businesses in order to distribute vote-mongering bonuses and promises of appointments in the public sector," he said, charging the government with "incompetence and political party obsessions."
