Olympia Odos in Greece among ASCE 2019 top-rated projects
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The new Olympia Odos Motorway located in the north Peloponnese Coast of Greece was among the 5 finalists for this year’s Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement award, American Society of Civil Engineer’s preeminent project honor.
This new modern 202-km motorway is a vital part of the trans-European network. Its design had to account for the highly seismic northern shoreline of the Peloponnese Coast, as well as archaeological resources inherent to a region that has been inhabited since 5000 B.C.
