Tension at Diavata as refugees/migrants want to cross border

Yesterday afternoon, when they began to flock to the area, responding to an online call, tension was created, leading to the arrest a 37-year-old Iraqi for resistance to authorities and attempted bodily harm, and an injured police officer.

There is a strong police force around the area, as refugees have declared their intention to go to the border. However, as reported by the Ministry of Migration Policy yesterday, "unfortunately some of the asylum seekers housed in structures in northern Greece have been duped by misinformation that has been circulating lately through social networks despite warnings from the structures' administrations."

The same sources called for the refugees/migrants "who followed the irresponsible call for a journey to the borders to return to the hospitality structures and in no case escape the limits of the law."
