Feta cheese and industrialists join forces to set up promotional organization

Stock farmers, industrialists and cheese makers agreed to set up the Feta Cheese Interprofessional Organization, at a meeting at the Greek Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food on Friday.
After wishing the new feta cheese authority a good prospect, Agriculture Minister Stavros Arachovitis emphasized that the sole purpose of the Organization is to "defend and support the product," and to be "the interlocutor of the state and its advisor," noting that the organization is not a trade union.
"I hope that from now on, we will all serve our national asset, feta, without serving small-scale interests, with unwavering determination against anyone deviating from our goal," said Arachovitis.
