Port of Piraeus climbs to 32nd place globally in 2018 for container transport

The port of Piraeus moved up six positions on the global list for 2018 in terms of container transport, according to figures released by Alphaliner.
Specifically, 4.91 million TEUs passed through Greece's biggest port last year, up from 4.15 million TEUs in the year before, a performance that brought the Cosco-managed port authority to 32nd place worldwide.
Additionally, Piraeus posted the biggest percentage increase among the 40 largest container ports in the world, 18.4 percent.
