Finance ministry announces VAT reductions

Some concise specifics on VAT reductions as per the recent voting of an omnibus bill of anti-austerity measures were announced on Thursday by the finance ministry.
These are:
A reduction of the VAT rate for staple foodstuffs, from 24 pct to 13 pct.
A reduction of VAT for catering and food services, except for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, fruit juices and beverages, from 24 to 13 pct.
A reduction of VAT in electricity, natural gas, and district heating from 13 to 6 pct.
