Mitsotakis in city of Patras: Investments are the backbone of growth and jobs

The key element of New Democracy's policy is growth, "which means a self-sustained Greece," said main opposition party leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, speaking at the Achaia Clauss winery in Patras on Tuesday evening.
"The party's policy plan foresees less taxes, and motivational incentives for investments that bring more jobs," he said, that bring "bigger, better salaries that boost general consumption and new security contributions that reinforce insurance funds."
He said that without an "explosive rise in employment," the country's insurance system is not viable, and reiterated that investments are the backbone of growth.
Mitsotakis elaborated on the notion of investments, adding that apart from giving rise to new jobs, they bring more taxes into the state coffers, "for public hospitals, for teachers, and for policemen." As far as pensions are concerned, investments will guarantee "more money comes into the insurance system, which means dignified pensions," he added.
The ND leader stressed that he envisages a strict implementation of labor laws and regulations, and the provision of all relevant fringe benefits by employers.
"We want to give people the chance to take control of their own lives and families," Mitsotakis explained.
"Greece has two choices: the first is what we all lived through, endless taxes, and the second is New Democracy's plan of fewer taxes and incentives for many investments to bring new jobs," the ND leader said.
"New Democracy is more united than ever before, and renewed, and I am ready to take over the country's governance," said the main opposition leader.
