Fire breaks out in Artemis

Firefighters at the Attica seaside resort of Artemis (former Loutsa) were supplemented with additional staff, the Fire Brigade said on Wednesday.
Kiafas Avenue has been closed to traffic, the police said, between Protopresvyterou Markou and Agias Kyriakis roads due to the fire which is burning low vegetation.
A total of 27 firefighters and 13 vehicles has been deployed to put out the flames, assisted by three helicopters and 2 aircraft.
The Fire Brigade said nearby homes are not in danger.
