Greek police chief orders internal investigation over incidents in Exarchia

An inquiry by internal police investigation mechanisms, in addition to the referral of the case to the National Ombudsman, was ordered on Monday into the videos, photos and complaints regarding police behaviour made in relation to the violent incidents in Exarchia on Friday, December 6.
The police force sent the same material to the Ombudsman on Saturday.
Police chief Michail Karamalakis spoke with the Ombudsman on Monday, underlining the importance of the issue for the police and asking for a priority investigation.
