New Year's liturgy at cathedral attended by Greek political, military leaders

A Greek Orthodox liturgy for the New Year was attended by President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the armed forces leadership and deputies of several parties at the Athens Cathedral on Wednesday.
The liturgy was led by the Archbishop Ieronymos II of Athens and All Greece, who wished everyone well for the new year.
Following the liturgy, the president received representatives of the political, military, religious and other leadership at the Presidential Hall, starting at 12:00 noon.
At 13:00, he attended the cutting of the New Year cake (Vassilopita) at the premises of the presidential guard.
