Parnitha Casino to relocate to Marousi suburb
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The Parnitha casino is ever closer to its relocation from Mount Parnitha to the Athens suburb of Marousi.
The Ministry of the Environment on Wednesday submitted a public consultation on the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment (SEMP) of the Special Spatial Plan (SSP) on the relocation of the Parnitha Casino.
Reportedly, the SSP in question aims at modifying land use in the study area, located at Delaveris of the Municipality of Maroussi (Prefecture Attica) and integrating Land Use for Tourism - Recreation in an area most of which was designated as being planned for urban habitation.
The purpose of the modification and the spatial purpose of the study is to create a tourism and leisure pole that includes tourist accommodation and accompanying recreational - cultural uses in conjunction with the installation of the Parnitha casino due to its need to be transferred from the Parnitha National Park within the Attica Region and specifically to Marousi.
