Ex-minister Katrougalos badminton accident calls for surgery

Former Foreign Minister George Katrougalos spoke about his injury in a badminton match at a Qatar embassy event, revealing that he was more serious than initially estimated as he has to undergo surgery.
Speaking on Thema fm 104.6 on the circumstances of the accident, Mr. Katrougalos said that "these things happens" and stressed that his fall was caused by "excessive diplomatic zeal".
"I wasn't trained, the ambassador insisted on giving me the racket, I didn't want to offend him, and it happened," Mr Katrougalos added.

Following the news of George Katrougalos' injury, a video was released in which the former Foreign Minister appears to be stepping in, taking a few steps back before finally falling to the ground injured.
