Holargos delivers food to Roma community at Nomismatokopio

Fresh and packaged food was distributed to a Roma community at the Nomismatokopio (Treasury) by the city of Holargos on Friday, as part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic to tightly-knit communities of Roma in Greece.
The community in the area numbers around 250 individuals.
Funded by Interior Ministry allocations to municipalities for the purpose, the food delivery took place in the presence of the mayor Simos Roussos. The city is also distributing healthcare provisions also through through volunteers, and has assumed the cleanup of the 3-hectare field (30 stremmas) by removing organic waste and discarded building material. It will also continue regular disinfection of the area, it said.
