Before entering the Prosecutor's office Monday morning to testify and to hand his 300-page deposition, made a rather provocative statement: “I am here to testify the obvious. If I do well, fine, otherwise judges will be approving loans from now on” he stated.
The senior banker testified for nine hours on charges relating to a series of unsecured loans given by Hellenic Postbank when he was in charge. According to information, he reiterated that loans were given according to the relevant banking procedures.
Filippidis' extradiction to Greece was achieved following the Greek Foreign Ministry's agreement with the Turkish authorities.
