An earthquake with its epicenter in Aliveri in Evia occurred at 5:55 pm. The earthquake was felt in Athens.
According to the preliminary solution of the Athens Geodynamic Institute, it was of magnitude 4.4 on the Richter scale.
According to the Athens institute, the earthquake had a focal depth of 10 km and an epicenter 3 km west of Aliveri.
The initial estimate of the Geodynamic Institute was 4.2 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake was long-lasting, had a loud sound and shook both Evia and Attica.
