Police arrest ring trying to sell a fake Picasso for €10 million

The Hellenic Police dealt a significant blow to an organized antiquities trafficking ring, proceeding with the arrest of 13 individuals.
The members of the ring attempted to sell a work they claimed to be an authentic Picasso painting for 10 million euros. However, the “buyer” was an undercover police officer involved in the operation.
During the investigation, a large number of artworks, ancient coins, and other archaeological items were found in the possession of the arrested individuals. According to initial information, the purported Picasso painting is a forgery.
The Hellenic Police are expected to release more information about the operation later today.
