The open-air cinema in Kimolos that is making the rounds on the internet - Μagic between rocks and sea

In the heart of the Aegean, in the idyllic Kimolos, there is a place that combines nature with a love of cinema: the island's open-air cinema that organizes screenings in magnificent landscapes, with the video of its screening going around the internet.

Located in a natural “amphitheatre”, the cinema screen has managed to captivate and steal the hearts of film lovers and non-cinema fans on social media, who are looking for something different for their summer evenings. The scenery created by the island’s rocks, combined with the moonlight and the sound of the waves, makes the experience of summer cinema unique.

Kalisperitis: The first star in the sky
The reason for “Cine Kalisperitis”, the mobile summer cinema of Kimolos, which the volunteer group “Kimolistes” curates and offers free of charge to everyone, permanent residents and visitors. As the Kimolists say, “it owes its name to the first star that becomes visible at sunset, which on our island is called Kalisperitis”. The cinema was inaugurated in 2014 and operates during the peak tourist season, June, July, August and September, with one or two screenings per week, depending on the weather conditions.

The premiere of this season took place on June 19 with the film "The Return" in the beautiful bay of Rema where the rocks sculpted by the waves of the sea have formed the shape of the "Elephant".

As informed by the Kimolistes, "in the last few days we have been receiving your messages daily on Instagram for our next screening. On 3/7 -6/7/25 the film "Little England" will be screened in the presence of actor Andreas Konstantinou. We will inform you about the location and time two to three days in advance."
