The event was held as part of the celebrations dedicated to the patron of the Hellenic Air Force, Archangel Michael

Spectators at the Hellenic Air Force Academy on Saturday night were treated to a spectacular drone show that lit up the sky with precision and symbolism.

Hundreds of drones formed images in the air depicting fighter jets, helicopters, the distinctive helmets worn by pilots, and the Hellenic Air Force’s motto, “Aien Ypsikratein”—meaning “Always dominate the skies.”

The highlight of the evening came when a blue drone “fighter jet” — symbolizing Greece — appeared to shoot down a red one representing Turkey, drawing enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

The following day, on Sunday, the Air Force continued its celebrations for its patron, Archangel Michael, with a large-scale air show that included impressive flight demonstrations.

Among those participating were:

An F-35 fighter jet from the Italian Air Force (ITAF)
Rafale aircraft from Greece’s 332 Squadron (114 Combat Wing)
The F-16 “Zeus” solo display team
The T-6A “Daedalus” display team
The historic Supermarine Spitfire MJ755 flying in formation with a T-6 Harvard
Commercial aircraft from Sky Express and Aegean Airlines
