Papastavrou: In Washington for a series of contacts - Focus on strengthening energy cooperation between Greece and the US

Strengthening Greek-US energy cooperation and the implementation of energy agreements were at the heart of the trip of Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou to Washington.
Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou is traveling to Washington for a series of contacts, within the framework of the strategic cooperation between Greece and the United States in the energy sector.
According to the ministry’s announcement, on Tuesday, December 2, at 18:00 (01:00 Greek time, 3/12/2025), Mr. Papastavrou will participate in the International Democracy Union Forum (Forum of the International Democratic Union – Global Center-Right Organization).
The forum will be attended, among others, by the former Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Stephen Harper, the Secretary General of the European People's Party and MEP, Ms. Dolors Montserrat, as well as a number of Senators, MEPs and representatives of center-right parties from around the world.
On Wednesday, December 3, the Minister's program is as follows:
9:00 (16:00 Greek time): Meeting with the US Secretary of the Interior and Head of the National Energy Dominance Council, Mr. Doug Burgum at the Ministry of the Interior.
10:30 (17:30 Greek time): Contacts with representatives of the American Jewish Committee (AJC).
12:00 (19:00 Greek time): Meeting with the Greek-American parliamentarians Messrs. Dina Titus, Jimmy Patronis and Gus Bilirakis.
14:00 (21:00 Greek time): Proceed to the US Department of Energy, meeting with the Secretary of Energy, Mr. Chris Wright.
16:15 (23:15 Greek time): Meeting with the President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), Mr. John Jovanovic.
17:30 (00:30 Greek time, 4/12/2025): Meeting with the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Mr. Michael Kratsios at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
