Zoe Konstantopoulou never ceases to cause controversy. This time she responded to the president of the Association of Judges and Prosecutors with a Facebook post, in response to the video of Christoforos Sevastides in which he stated that “persons with parliamentary immunity are instrumentalizing the Tempi trial and selling shows.”

The president of Plefsis Eleftherias speaks of a “slanderous” and “subversive position on the Independence of Justice,” noting, among other things: “Mr. Christoforos Sevastides obviously feels very exposed, and he is. No matter how hard he tries, he cannot hide. His crude interventions in open cases, in favor of the Government and to the detriment of the Independence of Justice, Judicial Conscience and the Rule of Law, are unprecedented.”

At the same time, Zoe Konstantopoulou states: "You want to turn the Tempi trial into a decoration for your election campaign. And this makes you unfit to be a judge. You are a liar, an insulter, a slanderer, and you do not hesitate to lend a helping hand to Floridis, arguing with the lawyers and relatives of the victims of the Tempi Crime."

Konstantopoulou is of course using her parliamentary immunity, otherwise she would be the immediate recipient of a suite for defamation and slander. It is unlikely that parliament would lift her immunity for such offenses that carry minimum penal consequences, but which could lead to civil lawsuits for comrensation, which in Greece is usually trivial sums.
