Free transportation for people with disabilities: The new vehicles were presented - How to make an appointment

The new vehicles that will strengthen the public transportation OSY fleet and take to the road to serve people with disabilities were presented by the organization's administration.
According to the company and the ministry, the strengthening of the fleet radically upgrades a critical social service that offers free transportation to our fellow citizens who are unable to use conventional public transportation.
The service is now significantly strengthened, as the fleet of special vehicles increases from three to ten, offering greater availability and better coverage of the needs of users.
The Deputy Minister of Transport, Konstantinos Kyranakis, emphasized in his speech that "from a law on paper until we get to have real vehicles that make real routes for real people, there is a very long distance and these people here covered the distance."
As he pointed out, today comes to complement a comprehensive policy implemented by the New Democracy government for people with disabilities, both motor and sensory.
The minister recalled that access to public transport for people with disabilities is free, while he referred to the recent launch of the disability card, which was linked to the OASA electronic ticket system. In this way, beneficiaries have free access to the metro and buses, without the bureaucracy and hassle of the counters they experienced in previous years.
At the same time, he stressed that the entire OSY fleet now has ramps for people with motor disabilities, as well as that public transport staff has been trained to serve people who face these difficulties.
"From today, with the enhanced routes of these ten vehicles, every citizen here in Attica can call OSY by phone, quickly and electronically, to make an appointment and have one of these vehicles come to serve him, at any time of the day, to go to work, to his entertainment, to his family or wherever he wishes," noted Mr. Kyranakis, emphasizing that facilitating the movement of people with motor or sensory disabilities is a duty of the State towards society.
