Police track missing translator's phone in major breakthrough

Yu Ting vanished from the coastal suburb of Artemida on May 20. According to police sources, her mobile device was switched on just three days after she went missing.

Detectives were able to trace the phone’s location after a new SIM card was inserted into the device.

The digital trail led investigators to an Albanian national. During questioning, the man claimed he received the device from a Bulgarian acquaintance, who allegedly found it discarded on the street.

Both men have provided formal statements to authorities. The Bulgarian national subsequently directed police to the exact location where he claims to have discovered the missing woman's phone.

The device is now undergoing forensic analysis to extract potential data regarding her final movements.

Ms. Yu's disappearance remains an active investigation, with detectives keeping all scenarios on the table. Her husband has previously stated he fears his wife either fell victim to a kidnapping or has been murdered.
