Former Defense Minister Tsochatzopoulos Sentenced Again

Today's Athenian court ruling placed former Greek Defense Minister Aki Tsochatzopoulos behind bars, for a five-year-and-six-month suspended sentence.

Last October, Tsochatzopoulos was caught in a laundering scheme, regarding millions of euros in defense deal kickbacks.  He was penalized to 20-years in prison.

Wednesday's ruling was a result of his inaccurate source of wealth submissions, concerning a Dionysiou Areopagitou Street property in the chic Makriyianni neighborhood of Athens. The former Socialist Defense Minister was also charged with a 210,000 euro fine.
