Greek DM at Herzliya Conference: Turkey threatens the stability of the entire region (vid)
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Greek Defense Minister Evangelos Apostolakis referred to the need for the necessary coordination to address the challenges to the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, while speaking from Herzliya, Israel, in his speech as the keynote speaker at the 19th Annual "Herzliya Conference," and he did not fail to warn of the possibility of these risks spreading if the coordination and cooperation he was talking about did not occur.
"Failure to meet the challenges of the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East and North Africa region would certainly have a negative effect on stability, and the consequences could spread to our immediate interest area and beyond," Admiral Apostolakis noted.
E. Apostolakis attended the conference following a relevant invitation by retired general Amos Gilead, executive director of Israel's Institute for Policy and Strategy (IPS) and president of the Annual Herzliya Conference Series, who had this year's topic: "Navigating Stormy Waters-Time for a New Course," in which the Greek minister spoke on the topic " Defense and Security in the East Med-The Perspective of Greece."
