Albanians terrorize Greeks in minority villages
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Albanian nationalists are setting up a scenario like the incidents at Vouliarates, this time in the Greek minority village of Krania in Northern Epirus, intensifying the climate of terrorism against the Greek population after the execution of Kostantinos Katsifas.
Late Monday afternoon, a group of Albanian nationalists "invaded" the square of the village and tried to destroy the monument dedicated to North Epirus fighter Thymios Lolis, while they also tore down and destroyed the Greek flag that was hung on the adjacent pole.
The young Albanian who removed the marble plaque and the Greek flag was perceived by the Greeks and in his attempt to escape he threw down the torn flag and the plaque that he broke and fled to the fields where other young Albanians were waiting for him in. A police force has already arrived in the village from Agioi Saranta.
In recent days, Albanian media has formulated an anti-Hellenic climate - analogous to that in Vouliarates - for the village of Krania because of the monument that exists there for the renowned North Epirus chieftain.
Recently, a slanderous anti-hellenic documentary titled "When honoring the Albanian murderers" was launched on Albanian television and aimed at North-Epirus fighters during World War II who fought for the rights of Northern Epirus Hellenism.
