Felony charges against Greek-American Jim Troupis for forgery in favor of Trump in 2020

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul on Tuesday filed felony forgery charges against two lawyers and an aide who helped file documents that falsely said former President Donald Trump had won the state in 2020.
The charges were brought against Donald Trump's lawyers, Kenneth Chesebro, 62, and Jim Troupis, 70, and former Trump aide Mike Roman, 51, who allegedly gave the fake Wisconsin election documents to a staff member of a Pennsylvania congressman to deliver to then-Vice President Mike Pence on January 6, 2021.
All three are due in Dane County District Court on Sept. 19, according to court records.
Greek-born Troupis and Tsebro did not comment. Roman did not have an attorney listed in court records.
Kohl, a Democrat, has come under pressure to take action against the 10 fraudulent electors, who have yet to be charged with any criminal wrongdoing. He has previously indicated he is relying on federal investigators, while also not ruling out a state investigation.
Electors are people appointed to represent voters in presidential elections. The winner of the popular vote in each state determines which party will send electors to the Electoral College, which meets in December after the election to certify the result.
The elector fraud efforts are at the center of a federal indictment filed in August against Trump that alleges he tried to sway the results of the 2020 election. Federal prosecutors, who are investigating his conduct in connection with the riot on Capitol Hill in USA on January 6, 2021, also stated that the plan originated in Wisconsin. Trump also faces charges in Georgia and has denied wrongdoing.
