The event for the cutting of the Vasilopita of the Greek Orthodox communities of Constantinople, with the presence of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, was accompanied by a series of unforeseen events.
According to what was reported by SKAI's correspondent in Turkey, Manolis Kostidis, three unpleasant incidents occurred during the ceremony.
Initially, shortly after the start of the event, there was a power outage. Then, at the moment the Patriarch began cutting the Vasilopita, the knife that was handed to him broke, which led to its replacement. However, the second knife was not suitable either, as it bent.
Faced with these continuous unforeseen events, the Ecumenical Patriarch spoke of a "bad sign" before the cutting process was completed.
