A taste of Crete “flooded” New York when a Greek dance association performed the Pentozali in Times Square.

The rhythms of Cretan music and the characteristic movements of the dance drew the attention of dozens of passers-by and tourists, who stopped to watch the spectacle.

As seen in the video, the dancers stood in front of the huge illuminated billboards and performed the dance, bringing the atmosphere of Crete for a few minutes to the busiest point of the city.
A performance was presented byThe Greek Federation of Greater New York and the Panthessalian Association "Asclepius" and was performed by the group PHILPA Larissa at the Stathakion Center, on Friday, May 1st at 7 pm, entitled: "The Greeks in War and Peace".
The group traveled from Greece to present to the entire Greek diaspora a unique performance with dances from all regions of Hellenism, and also had the chance to perform at Tiems Square.
