Evangelia Platanioti has been named the world's top female athlete for 2024, according to the vote of the World Aquatics Federation (World Aquatics), thanks to her great achievements at the World Championships.
At the World Championships in Doha last February, the Greek champion won the first world title of her career and became the first from our country to achieve such a thing. In addition to the gold in the Technical Solo, she also won the silver in the Free Solo.
In addition to the successes at the World Championships, at the Olympic Games in Paris she won 6th place in the Duet, together with Sofia Malkogeorgou.
These great distinctions brought her public recognition, which highlighted her as the top athlete in the sport for 2024.
