- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The beginning of the collaboration with actress Nia Vardalos was formalized by the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Isidoros Kouvelos.
Nia Vardalos, who is in Greece for the performances of the play “Tiny Beautiful Things” at the Pallas Theater, visited the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee in his office and they discussed the role she can have in supporting the Olympic team that will represent Greece at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Vardalos offered to form, together with her associates, a team that will assist in many ways in the work of the Hellenic Olympic Committee in view of the next Olympic Games.
Mr. Kouvelos, who met Nia Vardalos together with the Secretary General of the Hellenic Olympic Committee Stefanos Handakas, the President of the Olympic Torch Relay Committee Thomas Tokas and the co-director of the play “Tiny Beautiful Things” Spyros Katsaganis, stated:
“With great pleasure we welcomed to the Hellenic Olympic Committee the great actress Nia Vardalos, who promotes our country in the best way abroad. Nia immediately accepted my proposal and agreed to cooperate to help, through the Greek Diaspora or in any other way she deems appropriate, the Greek Olympic team. I want to thank her publicly for participating in the joint effort for the best possible representation of our country at the 2028 Olympic Games.”
It should be emphasized that a similar cooperation has been agreed by the Hellenic Olympic Committee with Maria Menounos.
