Maria Sakkari entered 2026 with a vengeance! The Greek tennis player against a big name, such as Naomi Osaka, did whatever she wanted on the Perth court and prevailed 6-4, 6-2 in the first match of the Greece - Japan tie for the United Cup.
With this victory, Team Hellas took the lead in the tie and in the match that follows, Stefanos Tsitsipas has the advantage against Shintaro Mochizuki to seal the victory for the Greek team.
