Giannis Antetokounmpo is building a real estate empire
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
With investments of tens of millions in Brooklyn, Wisconsin, Chicago and Rentis, Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo methodically invests in real estate, companies and projects, turning his mammoth NBA contracts into stable wealth.
Giannis Antetokounmpo does not only play offense on the court. He also plays in the real estate market, as his business moves prove. While most sports superstars are limited to advertising and lifestyle investments, the “Greek Freak” is converting the millions of his contracts into real estate, businesses and participations, ensuring an “eternal” income for him and his family.
His business journey began with the Antetokounbros stores, but now his portfolio has taken on the dimensions of an investment group. He manages shares of companies in the US, owns a restaurant in Milwaukee, supports an investment fund listed on the New York Stock Exchange, is even present in golf, and in recent years has thrown his weight dynamically into Real Estate.
The big "hit" in New York for 13 million euros
The biggest "hit" occurred in New York when a few months ago he acquired the eight-story residential complex "The Lawrence" in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn, for 14.1 million dollars - about 13 million euros. The deal was closed on November 18, 2025 and officially recorded on December 9, with the sellers being developers Seth Brown and Richard Ludwig, who had built the property in 2018.
The building has 28 apartments with a rent-regulated status, ensuring stable occupancy and limited risk. With rents reaching up to $3,000 per month, annual income exceeds $1 million. In the same neighborhood, the Greek star also made two more purchases of multi-apartment rental homes, with a total value of approximately $25.18 million. The package includes 50 apartments – from studios to three bedrooms – with modern infrastructure such as a roof deck, gym and pet spa. The transactions were completed in December 2025, confirming that the move was organized and long-term.
Ιn Chicago too
And as if Brooklyn wasn’t enough, the family also opened a front in Chicago. As recorded by the Real Estate platform “Black Enterprise”, Antetokounmpo’s investment group acquired the newly built “Harmony Apartments” complex, which was built in 2024 in the southern part of the city. The project consists of 56 apartments distributed in four interconnected buildings. The total price reached $21 million, with “Old National Bank” participating in the financing by providing $11 million to facilitate the transaction, a move that also shows the market’s confidence in the project.
In the US, the portfolio is also complemented by his personal residence in River Hills, Wisconsin, worth approximately $1.8 million, where he lives while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Antetokounmpo family invests in Village Shopping & More: A new era for Rentis
In parallel, Greece is a solid pillar of the Greek Freak family's investment plan. In 2024, the Antetokounmpo family, in collaboration with Premia Properties REIC and Elias Georgiadis, proceeded with the acquisition of Village Shopping & More in Rentis, for 14.1 million euros. The property, with a gross area of 49,000 sq m. on a 36-acre plot, operates as an entertainment park with the main tenant being the Village Cinema of the ANTENNA group, which has a long-term contract.
The goal of the new ownership is to upgrade the space with investments of 3 to 4 million euros, so that it can be transformed into a modern sports and entertainment center, with restaurants, sports shops and the possible creation of basketball courts. The approximately 3,000 sq m. are considered an opportunity for further development. The acquisition was made through “Renti to Go”, which acquired 100% of Trivillage Developments Greece, with the participation of Sterner Stenhus Greece of Elias Georgiadis, the Antetokounmpo family, Premia Properties and Giorgos Panos, Giannis Konstantinos and Alex Papakonstantinou.
Giannis Antetokounmpo: From the court to businesses with investments of millions
At the same time, other moves are also “running”, such as the purchase of the futuristic apartment building in Paleo Psychiko, the holiday homes in Costa Navarino, the establishment of “Original Vader” in Maroussi with a capital of 1.91 million euros and Synergy Care Monoposi IKE with a capital of 60,000 euros.
Antetokounmpo's financial background that allows him to move with such ease is impressive thanks to his annual earnings that exceed $100 million. Of this, $54.1 million comes from his contract with the Bucks, while the rest corresponds to sponsorships and commercial partnerships with giants. From his NBA contract, he is expected to receive an additional $111 million by the end of the season.in the summer of 2027 while there is an option for another 62.7 million dollars for the 2027-2028 season. However, what everyone is waiting to see is if there will be a trade and Giannis will leave the Milwaukee Bucks.
